Dating in DC

Juliana and I had a great day out in Washington DC today and as some of the best days go, it was nothing like what we planned it to be. We visited the mall and all the war memorials...

...we took a stroll through the Adams Morgan Neighborhood (which was frankly disappointing) but stumbled upon Embassy Row and had a great time looking at all the embassies.

My favorite part was our impromptu visit to the Society of the Cincinnati Museum near Dupont Circle. It was a beautiful house, an interesting piece of history I didn't know about and I even met a docent who has a degree in Spanish Literature from Harvard.

Orchid at the Botanical Gardens

We took the metro back down to the Mall and walked through the botanical gardens. Of course my favorite part was the orchid room, which was incredible. Orchids are so picky and hard to grow, it was truly a testament to their gardeners skill. We met up with some friends from Bloomington and had a nice raspberry lemon smoothie that really hit the spot after a hot and muggy day of walking around DC.
