Bloomington Civil War Encampment

Yesterday we went downtown to the history museum where they had a Civil War encampment set up with all sorts of activities for kids. Wildcare Inc had a volunteer with a barn owl for the kids to look at. They had rabbits to pet, a booth to make clothespin dolls, a booth for the kids to make their own trail mix, and the soldiers did a little march and shot their black powder rifles. There was also a big stuffed grizzly bear in the museum that Barec didn't like AT ALL. We tried to get him comfortable with it, but he just kept shaking his head and saying "no" in a worried little voice. Other than the encounter with the stuffed grizzly bear, he had a good time and we had fun watching him explore.
