A date to Mt. Vernon

Today Juliana and I went on a date...yes, just the two of us...to Mt. Vernon, the estate of the George Washington. We spent the whole day walking the grounds, holding hands, chatting and actually having a great time spending time as a couple.

George Washington Family Tomb

Mt. Vernon from the Potomac River

Me and Jules on the Potomac
George Washington's Sarcophagus
Mt. Vernon and us
The beautiful veggie gardens edged with thyme and rosemary
Threshing barn designed by GW. Horses trample the wheat on the top floor, then the grain falls through the cracks on the floor and then GW's slaves shovel up the grain from the floor underneath into barrels

Very cool! I love the history that you bring to your blog. :) I always learn something interesting. (Like I didn't know GW had a sarcophagus. I find it fascinating.)
