My Patron Saint
I was discussing the dissertation writing process with a colleague of mine today and he jested that at night, when he went to bed, he would leave an apple and some cookies on the keyboard and when he returned in the morning he would find two or three pages of his dissertation written for him. Some unknown, unseen force would zip in through the æther and eruditely write his paper for him. We decided that it was a bit Santa Claus-ish, so we gave a new name to his unknown visitor. San Gerónimo de la Tesis. Saint Jerome is the patron saint of libraries and knowledge, so it would only be fitting that he is the patron saint of those writing dissertations as well.
