Dates and Patterns

Juls with her new camera
Juliana and I got to spend some time together on a date today. She got a new camera and wanted to practice a little with it. We walked around downtown Bloomington and Indiana University campus holding hands and snapping pictures. I used a friend's camera and and tinkered around learning how a Nikon DSLR works. Practice makes perfect you know. I also worked on some good old texture and pattern shots in black and white. Some of the best dates are free.

I liked the bricks, and then I noticed the fruit pod on it, which just elevated that photo to a whole new texture. Way to go!

However that is a Liquidambar fruit, not sycamore. They do look a lot alike, but enough different to mention it (since I know you know enough about plants to maybe care...)

Thanks for sharing your photos!

ooh, thanks for the correction Mae, I just always called those pods sycamore by default even though they are different. I guess I was just too lazy to look them up.
