My Bucket List

Day 11 - Write a bucket list of things you want to do before you die.

After looking a quite a few different iterations of a bucket list it appears that people that write these things tend to do things that can kill them in the process. My mother always said that I was born 40 years old, whether that is a good thing or a bad thing, it does mean that I have never been one for daredevil antics, or doing things that most people find "exciting". I can't stand the idea of getting on a motorcycle, I have no desire to parasail, bungee jump or skydive. Skiing...nope, snowmobiling...nope, I'm really not even into spinning donuts in the car in an empty parking lot. I know, I'm a bit of a bore. So, my bucket list is a bit more subtle and focuses on opening my senses to new and interesting things. I'll write down the first 10 I can think of.

Before I die, I would like to...

1. Enjoy a cup of tea (herbal of course) in Doha, Qatar while listening to the call to prayer from the nearest minaret.
2. Visit the Harbin Ice festival (See my previous post on this one here).
3. Swim in the dead sea
4. Take a steam bath in a sauna in Finland
5. Sleep under the stars in Yellowstone National Park
6. Swim in the Devil's Pool at the edge of Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River
7. Hike part of the Appalachian Trail
8. Become a licensed falconer and have my own hawk
9. Publish a book
10. Learn to speak arabic

There are a lot more, but these are the first 10 that popped into my head.

Not to be a comment psycho, but I like your bucket list. I have a tiny bit of a desire to jump out of a plane, but for the most part I want to have awesome experiences (with my family where possible) that won't kill me.

@ Maria - You're not a comment psycho by any stretch of the imagination.

@Rebecca - I've been a little bored of the layout I had for a while, but your blog gave me the inspiration to do something about it.
