For the Christmas wish list a little late...or Really Early!

A couple of days ago a friend of mine and I went down to Bedford to a local gun shop to take a look around. Mind you I like my 2nd amendment rights as much as the next man, but I don't have an arsenal ready for the commies to come try and pry from my cold dead fingers either. Cosner's is a surprisingly great little gun shop with a wide selection and boasts over a 1,000 guns in stock. When we walked through the door we were greeted with 3 stands of used guns for sale and another three walls lined with guns behind the counter.

Cosner's

We perused the used stands first looking at the military grade .223 and .308 and then moved onto the hunting rifles in the 30-30 and 30-06 range and finally looked, handled and sighted the shotguns. After hefting quite a few different guns, I really was surprised by the balance length and beauty of the Ithaca featherweight Model 37 .16 gauge shotgun, and I was really impressed with the bottom shell ejection system as well. Now, going into the store, I really wasn't in the market for a new gun. I have a little .20 gauge single shot made by the New England Firearms Co. that has worked perfectly for me for years. It is a little small for me now that I'm not a teenager, but I can still knock 'em dead with that sweet little gun. Anyhow, back to the .16 gauge...We mosied around the store and were invited to take a peek in the vault at their selection of handguns, automatic rifles and VERY expensive shotguns with real gold triggers. These firearms were a thing of beauty, but my mind kept going back to that used .16 gauge on the rack. We looked at a few more guns and finally left the store, but I am still thinking about that sweet little .16 gauge and hoping for a really nice tax return this year. It's a little late to add it to my Christmas wish list, but there's always next year right?

The Shutter Bug

We set up a liitle "studio" in the living room today and borrowed a nice camera from a friend to do a little photo shoot of Barec. Here are some of the better ones.
